For this very special podcast, ChasingCinema's own Jacob R. Tiranno is joined by long time friend and mentor Dr. Jeffery Crouse. Jeff Crouse wrote the feature article and is on the cover of Film International's latest issue "Last Silent Star Standing: An Oral History of 1920’s Film with Diana Sierra Cary". Jeff wrote about a the famous silent film star, "Baby Peggy." Jeff talks about how the article came about, and shares some of the interesting he has discovered since he began researching. Jake and Jeff then go into a long discussion about the silent film, first by discussing the local showing of Charlie Chaplin's 'The Gold Rush' accompanied by a live orchestra. The two then go into to discuss the power of silent pictures, and their recent resurfacing in modern culture. Some of his most famous work includes Tourist Trap (1979) [Stephen King's favorite film], Crawlspace (1986), the cult horror film Puppetmaster (1989). Fast forward his work on numerous films and television shows, Schmoeller produced the 2009 student film Thor At The Bus Stop. His latest film, Little Monsters, has earned numerous awards and soon will be having a DVD release on Amazon. After Jake and Louie discuss the third installment of the Iron Man franchise, they discuss the latest hit in the theaters–'Star Trek Into Darkness.' The ChasingCinema duo go back and forth about why the loved the latest Star Trek picture. The then venture back into time and talk about 'Star Trek II: Wrath Of Khan.' The two then predict the rotten tomato score as well as the box office number for 'Fast and the Furious 6' and 'Hangover III'.
